Valencia CF games this season have provided plenty of late drama, as the team have shown their ability to push for goals right up until the final whistle.
Thursday night's game against Villarreal CF was the latest example of this, as Daniel Wass and Gonçalo Guedes both struck in the final moments of the Europa League tie, handing their side a 1-3 advantage heading into next week's second leg.
"When things like this happen, it stops being a coincidence and becomes a virtue," said coach Marcelino when asked about the club's penchant for goals in the dying moments of games.
Between the 75th minute and the final whistle, Valencia CF have scored an incredible 19 times this season, representing 31 percent of their overall total.
Nine of these goals have come in stoppage time, in which the players have dug deep to salvage points, earn victories and achieve cup progress -as was the case in the thrilling late fightback against Getafe in the Copa del Rey.
Up next is a fixture against Levante and the chance to claim another three points -whether the goals come early or late.
